United by the idea of building an ecosystem for founders in Southeast Asia, Peng T. Ong, So-Young Kang, and Roger Hamilton started the Founders Coaching Pause (FCP) in 2015. The 3-day program was built to provide founders with the necessary frameworks and tools to scale their companies facilitated by experienced startup coaches.
In 2017, Tomas Laboutka joined forces with the FCP team to launch SEA Founders. Two additional programs were introduced: the Masterclass Series (quarterly events) and the Local Forums. The organization was established in four cities—Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Bangkok. November 2017 saw the first Masterclass.
Today, SEA Founders runs as an independent, member-funded, not-for-profit organization. Our vision: Support growth-stage founders to scale in Southeast Asia, faster.
